.....and the front.
It was unloved at first and is still love or hate. But I am really liking the M6 coupes lately. Dimensions are nearly identical to the M4 save for length. Dat V10 tho...
Dat Bangle ass.
True beauty, V10 controlled by a third pedal. I think it could only better if it was gated

I think we need to understand deconstructivism and how unchanged car design was to truly appreciate these designs.

I saw my first E60 right after I moved to Germany over ten years ago. The shape of it compared to other cars around it, even the then new E46s, was truly a revolutionary design move that opened BMW to a whole new market. It was a very important step from the 7er. The high belt line, angular lines, new tech (as shitty as the first iDrive was, it has come a lonnnnng way). And it was still available with a manual, win.
I really liked the article Chris Harris did about Bangle a while back and the crazy genius he was.

Better than the RC-F in my eyes.

Mmm...that’s fairly sexy (Bangle bump notwithstanding)...and the V10 to boot.
Now that that’s out of the way...
I hate the Bangle bump. I hate that it is synonymous with apparent luxury. I hate that it is now accepted industry-wide. I hate that my 2015 Accord has a Bangle bump. I hate that my mom’s 2010 Lacrosse has a Bangle bump.
I love that Nissan Versas have a Bangle bump though. That shit’s hilarious.
As you were...

I genuinely lol’d.
I’ve been in Germany far too long, there are enough hatches and van-type cars I don’t notice all the Bangle-y inspired sedans.

Dimensions are nearly identical to the M4 save for length.
The E63 M6 is also 400 lbs heavier than the F80 M4.

I would say some power difference would help slightly, but it is somewhat well known the S55 is underrated. I haven’t dynoed mine but a $500 chip will get it to near the same power levels. I’m a huge fan of the V10 howl though.

There’s just something off about the Bangle 6 series. The Bangle 1/3/5/7 of the era were hard to digest at first, but really grew on me....while the 6 remains an ugly duckling. The interior is beautiful, but the front looks bulbous and doofy, while the rear looks like it’s swollen from an allergic reaction.
I’d much rather have an M5 with a stick, since those DSG boxes seem to let go and cost more than the car to fix.

I know four people with E60 M5s, three with the SMG and one with a stick. Guess which two have been in the shop with transmission problems in the last month?
I'd take the manual every time.

The man changed automotive design language, and I’ll never try to take that from him. I just don’t like everything about it, is all.
